Masking Fluid

I spent a delightful day with friends stamping on Wednesday. We had a project which is always good fun. This month we played with masking fluid.
These are a few of my efforts.
The black and white ones are rather scratchy looking , showing up my brayering deficiencys! I stamped the daisy on white gloss, applied the masking fluid then brayered with Black Brilliance...this took a lot of effort to get good coverage so I put some black Staz-on over the top. Will just try Staz-on next time.

Vellum

I was tidying up a drawer that turned out to be full of sheets of vellum in both plain and patterns.
I went to my archives to find some ideas on using the vellum.
I found an email from Lea Cioci sent to a Yahoo stamping group I belonged to back in 2000. Her favourite idea for using vellum was to stamp an image in black on the front, stamp and emboss a pattern on the back in white then to sponge the back with dye ink.
I have used patterned vellum on these cards.

Found Cake in font!

I found this image of a birthday cake while looking through some fonts and used both the cut out and the silouette. thought it was fun for a quick card.

New Stamps

I attended a local Scrapbooking and Paper fair recently and indulged in a few new stamps by an Australian company Eclectic Images. Just love their ladies. Here I have used "Caitlyn" and "Rosa".

Been a while!

I did not realise it had been so long since I last wrote in my blog.
I have been creating but not travelling unless you call a weekend at Phillip Island a trip! Mind you it was very pleasant and relaxing.
I took the plunge and bought my own Cricut Expression machine...Wahooo I still have a lot to learn about how this larger machine works as opposed to the smaller original Cricut, but there is plenty of time:)
I really like the fineness of things that can be cut out with this machine. For example these trailing butterflies.
