WARNING Don't look if you are squeamish!
On friday my daughter Emily bought herself a new Ricoh Digital Camera so when I redressed my arm on saturday she thought some close up photos would be a good idea. EEEWWWW most of them were too just to ghastly to post. This one is taken from further away and shows the extent of the damage I did to my arm. I now understand why the doctors are worried I may need a skin graft as there are a couple of spots where there is no skin at all and you can see the internal tissue underneath!! The black arrow the doctor drew on so that he would operate on the correct arm!!!
Good Friend

My very good friend Marion came to visit today and brought with her not only wonderful edible goodies for "Nurse Mike"...as it is his birthday...but some special medicine for me. Attached to a box of gourmet chocolates was this little set of instructions. Oh and she made me a card too inside which reads..."they hurt elbows!"

Update on Different Travels.

Well I got to have a good look at the damage I did to my arm yesterday...the suture line is about 10cm long! It looks OK according to the Doctor but he wants another look next week when they take the stitches out. It has been redressed and a splint put back on...so I am still restricted in what I can do:(
We have had some great thunder and lightening here overnight. Rain too but more would be appreciated.
Just had to share this very funny card my friend Kerri made. Sorry the scan is crooked I am doing my best lefthanded...lol

Travel of a different kind!
Well I had an unexpected "trip" on saturday. I was driven by ambulance to hospital after I fell off my bicycle! I spent the next 8 hours in the Emergency Department being seen by numerous medical practioners before being taken to the operating theatre to have my arm repaired. I stayed in hospital overnight as I had managed to "deglove" a large area of tissue right down to the bone (just below my elbow) on my right arm of course! I am now all plastered and bandaged up, consequently I can not bend my arm and require help with some basic aspects of life. No crafting until I see the doctors on thursday when they will review how I am healing...fingers crossed a skin graft won't be needed!
It has been suggested I trade my bicycle in on a tricycle...but I am not ready to give up on it yet!
My darling husband "Nurse Mike" is taking great care of me as is my daughter. Family and friends have all offered and sent help in various forms for which I am truly grateful.
